My mom had a hip replacement a couple of years ago. After having it done, her comment was that if she had known that it would have made such a difference she would have had it done earlier. She had not realized how much pain she was in until it was gone.

She also went straight from the hospital to a rehab unit. The PT's would not let he go home until she was able to handle the stairs.

Suzanne, hope your mom is well on the mend.

Hanging! We brought her home today and things are looking pretty good. She's a bit concerned about managing things since my dad can't move around well or drive but my sister and I will be looking after them both for a good three weeks or until she's able to maneuver herself and drive again.

Ugh... hard stuff for 75. Her incision is about 8-9 inches wide. OUCH!

Suzanne: I've been way too busy the past couple days, but I did want to send a quick note saying I'm very happy that your mother's surgery went well. I know it will take a lot of work and time to help her during the recuperation period, but hang in there!

Egad Ron - my dad had triple by-pass too. It took him an entire year to really heal and get back to normal. Getting the drug combinations right was tricky. He also got pneumonia too. That's a tough surgery and recovery takes a long time. Tell him friends in MN are cheering for him.

Nathan thanks a ton. It doesn't matter what day - you made me smile regardless :)

My mother by the way, is on some very interesting happy pills right now. We were in therapy with some other "replacement" patients and every one of them was dozing off during their exercises. Then they wake up and introduce themselves to you again. It was hilarious.

Probably the funniest part however was when my mom pulled out her bright red lipstick and did her lips for her afternoon nap LOL. Great technology, great drugs. How can you go wrong?

Good to hear that you mother is doing well from her surgery. I'm sorry that I did not catch this yesterday, but it would seem that many prayers were on her side.

Just a note to let you know that I love your templates. Please, keep them coming! We'll keep praying for your mom.

Suz,
My thoughts & prayers are with you and your family; I'm actually heading to FL next week to see my dad (80 yrs. old) who has a triple by-pass on May 8th, developed a lung infection and is still in the hospital! (the heart surgery went perfectly, BTW!)

Take care.

Guy - I'll get your listing updated.

Mireille - thank you my dear. I got home at 7PM last night, went right to bed and didn't get up until 9AM this morning :-/ Managing this site, two kids (my dogs) and going through this is exhausting. Thank God my sister flew in from CA to help.

Paul - you're alive :-O I was just about ready to call your wife and ask what the heck is going on. Write to me when you get a chance. P.S. If you're up this way around the 27th, I'm having dinner with Amy Johnson. Join us.

Matt - thank you. We all appreciate this very much.

I told my mom last night that you all were sending her well wishes and she was very grateful. I think any kind of surgery can be a bit shocking, despite all the bravery one can muster, so it helps to know others are cheering for you.
