May 12, 2008
Hello folks, I realize I have not posted anything here since Christmas LOL – you write to me too much – can’t get anything done ;-) But this is just a quickie to let you know I am about to implement a significant reconfiguration for this site tonight.
Everything is changing – the theme, the content, the structure… Because I have three systems running and integrated here, this won’t be exactly instantaneous so bear with me as I get things in place and cleaned up. Links will go to strange places or won’t work, data might go missing i.e. your bookmarks may no longer work. However, I think you will find the change very beneficial. I’ve made a significant effort to reorganize in much more intuitive ways. Let me know what you think when you get a chance.
Expect a couple of days to work out the kinks and after that, shoot me a note if you find things I haven’t.
Cheerios!
UPDATE… Okay 9 hours later I think I have things stabilized. I need to get some sleep however since it’s now 6AM :-/ Be back later.
So glad you are back on line. Welcome back and thank you for being there.
Mireille
Hey Mireille! Always glad to see your name pop up around here. I just got your site listed in the new Live Examples area today. Bit by bit this is all coming together. For so long I was kind of fitting things together – the site really needed an overhaul.
What do you think so far? I suppose I shouldn’t ask that until I get the store and the product pages moved back into the site :-/ That should happen here in the next two days. I came home from Europe very sick and I’m still battling that. The “up all night” programmer schedule I’m keeping is not helping so we’ll see how much I can complete here. I have theme updates that have to be released.
Hey the site I added to the Live Examples today wasn’t your Club iWeb site. Did you want that one listed too??? That’s a great implementation of Zones!
I love the new look! I see it is on word press. I have gotten pretty good with using wordpress over the past year let me know if you need any help. I love what you have done with the comment box as well very cool!!! Let us know when the redesign is done I would love to blog it on http://newmacuser.com like I have done in the past.
Hi Suzanne! Great to see you back and I love the look of the site so far… very clean and easy to read. The RSS feed is still working (I was pleasantly surprised this morning to see a new message in the 11Mystics feed).
Wow two more familiar faces! Great to hear from you both as well and I’m happy to hear you like the new style!
Matt, the majority of my site has always run off WordPress… at least the blog portion. I love WordPress so much I think I need one of their bright red t-shirts. If you’ve checked out the WordPress link in my Tools section, you’ll have an idea where I’m going with all this. I would love it if you had some neat-o code to share. I have so many great new plug-ins and tons of conditional PHP code in place. The whole overhaul has been real positive and I’m very happy with the more logic flow of things here.
Kari – I was thinking about you the last two days. I got the BAM Central link into the new Live Examples area and was wondering what the heck you’ve been up to all winter. Great to hear from you. I should be back in action here now and look forward to getting back to our regular chatter. Yay!
Oh! Matt… yeah, the comments… my previous theme used the neat comment chat bubbles too, but for this redesign, I was set on a very minimal use of imagery. All the rounded corners in this theme were produced entirely with CSS – NO IMAGES! The only images for the chat bubbles are the little piece by your name. The code for these kinds of alternating comments, was originally a part of a theme called Lush. This comment box with Happy Mac is all mine :)
Hey Suz!!!!
Welcome back ;-) LOVE the new site; so clean and bright.

Hey Ron – thanks for the hug! Glad you like the new design. I’m very happy with the way it’s coming together. Today I hope to get the store moved over. That’s a huge one though. Might have to do that bit by bit.
P.S. I still have that email of yours with the sage color swatches for Mystics Sage LOL.
Ho boy, now we keep you busy responding to our comments, I feel guilty.
Yes I would love to have clubiweb.com listed.
I am having a great time with it. But I’ll have another surprise for you soon. I am working on a site that is combining two of your templates into one and I think it is stunning.
Mireille
Yeah, can’t get a thing done around here! ;-) Club iWeb has now been listed in the Zones Live Examples w00t! Very cool. We expect greater things from you every time you submit a site now. No slacking.
Ugh. My cough is killing me – I may have to run out to the pharmacy and get some drugs :-/
You guys need to go to gravatar.com and set yourself up with a neat-o picture for your blog comments. You tie your Gravatar account to an email address and as long as the email address listed in your blog account here is the same, I can retrieve your Gravatar picture and display it by your comments.
Suz, I still love the look of the original Mystics that I’m currently using for RandomDoorways, but if/when you finish Mailroom (or some other scrapbook-like theme), I will most likely switch some, if not all of my site. Of course, Italian Tile is so very tempting, too! Maybe it’s a good thing that theme switching isn’t as easy as the click of a button! :o)

Rockin Gravatar :D Okay Mailroom needs to get done. It basically is, but I have to fix some logistical things. After I get my new store pages set up, I’ll complete that. I had a request for Mystics in burgundy the other day. I have so many themes 90% complete <sigh>
I just realized too that I can create an iWeb theme much like my new site design as well… HUM…
awoken from the dead man :-D ive answered your mail … or am in the process of
come on – you forgot ajax comments? hehe great design though
Hey Max, yes resurrected and back to the living. I cannot believe you do not have a Gravatar, uber geek that you are. I actually removed the ajax comments :-/ I was using that in my previous theme, but removed it to reduce unnecessary code. I totally rewrote the comment code to make it very lightweight. Powerful simplicity is my new mantra OM…
This comment is also a test to see if my secondary admin account will register as the admin with my code. Probably not blah. More conditional stuff to fix.
i actually do have gravatar :ponder: lol “uber” is that your new favorite word?
