User-Submitted Page Layouts

December 21, 2007

This is a bit of a side note considering I have more important tasks higher-up on my priority list, but as I’m working to get my store rebuilt here (which is currently the big bottleneck), I’m also developing a new user-submitted page layout section for every theme I have.

I’ve been wanting to do this for a long, long time. One of the best features of iWeb and Rapidweaver if you have the right plug-in, is that you can create free-form layouts to your heart’s content. Don’t like my layouts? No problem. You can build one of your own right? Okay, it requires some creativity and diligence, but it is possible.

For each theme, I’m starting a section where I’ll post user-submitted page layouts. If you’ve created what you think is a great new page layout, send me a link to the page. I’ll take a screenshot and post it with credits at my site. This way we’ll build a library of creative ideas that should support and inspire everyone.

I think I will also hold periodic contests and give away prizes for winning designs. To be determined :)

If you have some great layouts already, send them to me. As I rebuild the store pages, I’ll just add them right in.
