About This Article •
Well a few people have been asking for a pre-production release of this theme so we’ll do like we did with Lightside… This theme is in BETA form. It is NOT complete. The podcast pages have not been completed yet. If you are uncomfortable with that, do not purchase this theme at this time.
For those of you that just absolutely must have this theme RIGHT NOW (!!!) You can purchase it. Log in to your account, it’s in the list of themes available for purchase. If you don’t have an account, create one for free. If you are logged in already, get this theme and checkout now!
Hey, Welcome back. How was Wisconson? I hope you had a great time.
What is that custom color picker plug in that you have in your color palette? with the # sign? I like it.
FYI, Firefox has a terrible time logging in to comment. I’m at work puking on my pc because I had to solicit the help of IE to get in..
So, I didn’t think I needed an Autumn theme…. then I watched the video!! Okay, you hooked me once again!!
Yaaay! You used Keynote! :)
Another drawing tip, after you click on the red dot, holding down “Option” and dragging the curve points will make both of them stretch at the same distance in the opposite directions from the dot. Holding down “Command” will break the curve points so now you can create a corner if you like.
Also, to prevent that snapping, hold down “Command” after clicking the red dot. This tells iWeb to ignore the snap points.
Brian, the color picker plug-in is… egad… hum… I have to find this site again…

It’s priceless as far as I’m concerned, but free for everyone :)
Kari if you keep this up, I may have to create a super product, buy everything for one low price ;-)
Ken… You know I learned everything I know from you - well 99% of it. The other 1% was made possible by Coca Cola heh. Thanks for the new tips!
I am wondering if the pages can be duplicated? Im making great headway however, I am stuck without being able to duplicate.
Also,
The “tabs” need more edit points. Can I add them?
Any advice?
Yes you can duplicate them Steve. Normal pages you can duplicate. You can’t duplicate Blogs or Podcasts, but you can duplicate the entries.
Yes you can add editing points for those custom shapes. Hold down (I think it’s) the option key while in edit mode (red dots showing) and you’ll get a pen cursor, indicating you can add more points to the shape.
Please forgive me. I just can not duplicate??? I use the edit menu, I use the control/click menu.
I hi-lite the name of the page in the left hand “directory” and perform all the normal duplication methods including “command/D”
Still can’t make a copy of my Welcome or about me pages.
Thank you for your help.
Oh, hold on and I’ll go check that then for the template. There’s another bug I have to fix for the About Me page anyway. Be back shortly.
Okay, it seems the only “duplicatable” page in Solingo is Movie. I have no idea what triggers this feature within the XML or what might break it which is likely what’s happening.
I’m going to have to come back to this one. I have to get Arcturuas and Softwhite out here and then I’ll see if I can figure this out. I hope it doesn’t mean we can’t use the custom layouts :( Boy that’s frustrating.
I have figured out a laborious workaround for now. I am also eagerly awaiting Arcturus. It is incredible that you have figured this out. I am thankful and I hope I was helpful and not a pain.
Kindest regards
Indeed Steve - every bit of information anyone can provide is that much more that I can work with. It’s key to our collective potential if you will :)
I’ve got my head deep into this custom layout thing and I’m a bit confused and concerned about what might have caused this issue with duplication. I used the White template as the basis for Solingo so it might be something with the White template that’s causing the issue. No one has reported this bug for any other template but all the others were created based on Apple’s 2.0 Modern Frame theme.
Ugh. I may have to release Softwhite and Arcturus using non-custom layouts at least as a first pass to ensure we avoid bugs.
You guys have been very patient while I figure all this out and I appreciate that very much. Knowledge = options in this case so the more we figure out, the more options we have for updates and future themes.
Back at it!
Hi Suzanne,
I don’t know if you still monitor this page since it is a little old now, I do have a Solingo question.
First let me tell you I love it and I should have looked at the video before buying it would have saved me a lot of time poking around to find out how to change it.
Anyway if you remove the top nav bar everything moves up, and the shape that is behind it kind of disapear. I want to keep the shape but not the nav bar how can I do that. I understand that the nav bar in O8 is problematic for IE users so I would rather make my own.
Any suggestion will be welcome.
