Well folks I’m getting this on in at the buzzer. I hoped to get Lightside out to you this weekend and it looks like, according to my time, I’ll make it by 58 minutes.
This is a BETA release. There is a big bug in the blog. It won’t prevent you from using the blog, but if you use the blog, you need to understand this. When you create your first entries, they’ll look fine. But once you save and exit, something goes wrong with the very first entry. The others are fine, it’s just the first one when you first create the blog.
If you want to use the blog, create a second entry and then delete the first one. Then things will work from there, but I would not enter 1000 entries from your old 1.0 site until I’m certain this bug can be found and fixed. Test it out with a few entries only.
Beyond that, I still have to do the podcast pages, but all the rest are ready to go. Watch for updates to this theme.

Give it a good test drive Paul. This was one of the handful of themes where I used the new layout technique and it presents some trickiness that creates a few problems. I think I got them all aside from the blog problem, but a test drive in the real world always helps.

Question: how do I change the font in the navigation bar? Right now it is a typewriter font and I’d like to use Arial or something sans serif.
Oh I totally forgot to mention something about this theme and the use of the font, American Typewriter. Remind me to create an entry about this later. I’m on dad duty today and tomorrow so I’m not home except to manage the dogs.
You would have the change the XML in the templates to use a new font for the navigation menu, but remind me about that too and I can create a version of the theme that uses whatever sans-serif font you want. Or I can show you how to do it yourself too.
Just remind me… I probably won’t get to it til Wednesday. My dad and I have projects! Today we went shopping at his favorite stores, Home Depot and Fleet Farm. Then we bought weed and feed, new bird feeder hangers and now we’re going to grill steak for dinner. He’ll sleep til 10AM LOL :) Forgot to mention, we programmed all his garage door openers and a key pad too - so productive!
Problem is I don’t remember what lightside looks like anymore coz the screenshots are gone…
Don’t I have any Live Examples for that one? I must.
