About This Article •
AHHHHHHH! :-O I just spent the last 90 minutes trouble-shooting a publishing problem that was crashing iWeb. My god, I have enormous patience when it comes to software, but this is just about as much as I can take. For some unknown reason, my FAQ (blog) in the iWeb Library will suddenly get a corrupt entry (which worked fine yesterday) and upon publishing, will crash iWeb. I have to go in and recreate the entry. Today there were 4-5 corrupt entries, all of which had to be rebuilt. If I have to continue doing that every so often I’m going to have to abandon an iWeb-based FAQ until they get that fixed.
Foshay News
I have updated Foshay Aqua to fix a couple of things and to make the text on the Welcome page (what we call) ghost text. I also ghosted the text in the footer to make it easy to change. If you use Foshay Aqua, you might want to update your copy. These changes were really minor. Those of you that purchased AquaPRO from my old e-commerce system should contact me to grant you access to it in my new system. Please send me your order number to expedite that process.
I now have a version of Foshay Crimson available - dark pages. It’s available from the store. I will grant access to anyone that had purchased CrimsonPRO in the past. This will take a few hours so if you paid cold, hard cash for CrimsonPRO and you do not see it in your account by tomorrow, earliest later tonight, please contact me.
Affiliate Program
Some of you know that I also run an affiliate program. For those that don’t know what that means, simply put, it means I will pay you a commission if any person you refer to my iWeb template store makes a purchase. I have a few people that make a nice side income doing this. One woman, a teacher, funds her classroom kitty with this income!
I have a page in the iWeb Library that explains this in more detail. I need to make new banners. The banners I have in my store are kind of out-dated. However, you can use your affiliate link with any banner you want. I’m attaching a zip file that contains a Keynote template and a Photoshop template. You can use either to make any one of the standard banner sizes. I was thinking of hosting a contest to see who could create some cool, new banners. Would you be interested to do that? I can offer some prizes in a variety of categories. Here are the files:
Hi Suzanne,
Wonder if this has happened to others…I downloaded Foshay Crimson and installed it into iWeb 2.0 and followed your instructions, both the instructions included with the template and your great new video. I opened up iWeb 2.0 and I can’t pull up the themes…ANY of them!
To be fair, I haven’t opened up iWeb 2.0 previously. I wanted to check here first as I work through this to see if you or others have noticed this glitch before. If we’re clean here, I’ll go fishing over at the Apple forums and see if they’ve got any answers (they didn’t have any entries addressing this problem as of this morning).
Thanks so much for your support!!
Kevin
Kevin you probably have a type-o in the PLIST file. I notice that when I goof up that file, my “plus” button that displays the page picker window in iWeb doesn’t work.
Go into ThemeSortOrder.plist and remove the line I have you put in there and it will work again. I’m not sure exactly what the type-o is, but it’s some kind of invisible character cuz when this has happened to me, there was no visible error. Maybe I typed the theme name incorrectly - that was probably it and I didn’t notice. Oh, that had to be it. Just didn’t think of that before.
Either way, just remove that line in that file because you really don’t need it. If you want it, in order to make sure your theme stays at the top of the list and not placed alphabetically, then make sure your entry reads: FoshayDark Crimson. You probably typed Foshay Crimson instead.
If that’s not it, write to me and we’ll look into it further.
Thanks, Suzanne! That fixed it. I’m working just fine. And thought Foshay Crimson Dark comes up at the bottom, I remind myself that iWeb is saving the best theme for last! ;-)
Kevin
LOL rock on brother. I love when I actually have the right answer.
Hey Suzanne,
I purchased your AquaPro template back in the day, and I think it might have been before you set up your store, cuz I don’t seem to have an account. Please let me know how to download the Foshay for 2.0 update! Thanks!
Paul you’re alive! Set up an account in this new system so I can move the templates into the account for you. Then you’ll have access to them all the time. Send me an email with your account name then. Hope you’re well! :)
Okay! I set up the account so all is well! maybe one day I’ll even put together my website!
