About This Article •
Okay first of all, don’t ask why I chose that name. I just pick the first word that comes to mind with these things because the name just does not matter :) Please, no marketing blah blah blah about how names are important. That will score the big W on the forehead with me har har.
Now, here’s the deal. The original 1.0 AquaPRO and CrimsonPRO will remain free for 1.0 users. Anyone that purchased AquaPRO or CrimsonPRO will receive the 2.0 version that is now under the name Foshay Aqua or Foshay Crimson. To give you access to this new version however, I have to go through my paid customers one by one and grant access so bear with me as I do that. If you paid your hard-earned cash for AquaPRO and you do not have access to Foshay Aqua by Sunday morning (US Central Time -5GMT) then please contact me.
The aqua version, dark pages only for now, is ready for testing. If you are not comfortable using a theme that may need updates, do not download Foshay at this time. This was a highly, highly intricate conversion because I tried to be fancy and made a GIGANTIC boatload of extra work and had to undo many screw-ups so this theme really needs to be tested by some folks willing to beat on it first. You would not believe the bizarre things I had to solve LOL. EGAD!
I’m partially braindead after this one so if I forgot anything or screwed something up, please let me know asap. Thanks a billion :)
FYI - I may have a bug in the Blog. I tried to publish my test site and it puked on the Blog archive page so I’ll look into that. You can still download and start messing with this theme. Just don’t get too far into a new site with it. Otherwise you might have to redo some things later.
I like the name, so there! And I will start testing immediately and let you know if I find any problems.
I just loaded the new theme. For some reason I can not create any new pages or a new site, by either using the key or Control click….
Is it something I have done, a iWeb Bug or a possible conflict with the template.
I appreciate the hard work
Jay
LOL Kari… the name thing just makes me laugh. Some day someone will remember me for my lack of caring about theme names ;-)
Jay, are you saying that you can’t even get the page picker window to open? If that’s the case, you likely have a type-o in your ThemeSortOrder.plist file or it’s a memory issue. One time iWeb did something weird and lost the display of the plus button for me. I just restarted iWeb or rebooted to clear that up.
Okay, I just HAD to know about the name Foshay.
As it turns out, Wikipedia has a listing for the Foshay Tower in Minneapolis, MN. It was named after Wilbur Foshay who was an art student and businessman. He built the building for himself and planned to use the building for personal reasons. It’s evidently quite ornate and well decorated. John Philip Sousa was even commissioned to write a march for the opening day of the tower. I don’t want to go too far in quoting the Wikipedia site as I know anybody can look it up for their own interest.
And that name just popped in your head? You’re amazing!!!
Thanks again for all you do for all of us out here in Cyberland.
Kevin
Now there’s a true fan LOL… researching names even! Okay so it wasn’t entirely accidental ;-) Indeed, The Foshay Tower here in the Twin Cities is quite the building. There’s nothing like it anywhere else in the state. Chicago probably has something like it. It’s reminiscient of another time, but possess a presence of wealth and power that’s timeless. It reminds me of bankers. I must have been thinking about Minneapolis when picking the name. I was pondering all this during that whole bridge collapse thing. I can’t remember. The name is not fitting for the feel of the theme, but like I said. I don’t care LOL :D Maybe in the future I will create a theme and we’ll have a contest to name the theme. The winner gets the template for free yippee!
Hi Suzanne,
I know you don’t need this; but any chance that soon the Old Aqua-Pro light pages be available?
I have a project to finish, and I tried with the dark pages; but it’s a nightmare to adapt it.
I saw that you colleagues fond out where iWeb 2 stores the Frames. I found it as well, but to my disappointment, the new frames are build dynamically with little pieces and not as before as a fix form. Any idea when you think to begging working on them? The available from Apple are horrendous; and I’m including all the 72; yours are a million times better.
Best Regards
Oh I should get to the white versions this week Josep. I really hate to duplicate a theme before I know it’s bug free. I know of a few things in there that have to be fixed first, but you should see it Wednesday-ISH.
I need to get Lightside and Arcturus started now too.
The frames… yes, they’re entirely different now. Not sure what I’ll be able to do there as I just have not had the time to look into it, but we’ll figure something out.
