Update: I have all the language files now and the BETA version of Aerolite Aqua has been updated to include the correct files. Please RE-download the files and RE-install them to ensure you have the correct version.

Okay, drink your tea or coffee people, I need you to think on this one. If you’re not a geek, you might want to avoid this entry.

Every theme contains localization files. These files tell iWeb which words to use in the template. Even though I create my themes in English, the words will translate into your language because these files exist.

Now the problem I’m finding here is that my version of iWeb does not contain the correct translation files, at least for the Modern Frame theme I duplicated to create my themes. The translation files in Modern Frame are actually for the Baby theme so all the strings are wrong when used in a non-English version of iWeb!

If you’ve got the geek vibe going today and you happen to have a NON-english version of iWeb, I would appreciate it if you could send me a copy of your language folder for the Modern Frame theme. Here’s how to do that:

1. Right click on iWeb and select Show Package Contents from the pop-up menu.
2. Navigate to /Contents/Resources/Themes and locate the Modern Frame.webtheme file.
3. Right click on Modern Frame.webtheme and select Show Package Contents from the pop-up menu.
4. You will see a number of folders now, most are language folders. Locate your language folder, right click on it and select Create Archive of… to zip it into an archive.
5. Drag that archived version to your desktop. You can close the Finder windows now.
6. Send that archive of your language file to support@11mystics.com. Make sure the file name indicates which language it is.

The first person from each language other than English to send me their language folder will get a coupon for a free theme from 11Mystics.com! Bribery gets you everywhere :)

UPDATE

The BETA files were updated at 9:15AM US CST today to include the Swedish localization files and a fix to the Podcast entry text textbox size. I will update the download again later this afternoon to include new language folders I’ve received.

The BETA files were updated at 12:10PM US CST today to include all other localization files. Users of any language should now see key text in their own language. After you download this latest release (as of 12:10PM 8/15/07) a quick test would be to create a blog page and check to see that the “previous” and “next” links at the bottom of the page appear in your own language and do not literally say “previous” and “next” in English.
