Now that I have your attention… this is the first in a series of public service annoucnements that you need to read. OSX Leopard will soon be released and rumor has it that iLife 7 which will include iWeb 2 will also be released at that time.
If you have templates from 11Mystics installed to iWeb and you’ve built web sites using them, then this is your first notification that you should NOT upgrade to iWeb 2.0 until I’ve had a chance to investigate how the new version of the software impacts existing templates.
It’s quite possible that the new version of iWeb will include an entirely new template framework or in the very least, elements that render the original templates unusable. SO… if you’re running a business off one of these templates, or you run some kind of web site that requires frequent updates, DO NOT make your life miserable and upgrade to iWeb 2 until you know for sure that your 11Mystic templates will work as expected in the new release. Since time will be important during this process, I will not be answering emails about this topic. Please continue to monitor my blog entires for all the latest information.
uhhg bring on the 2.0!!!
I have a add on product that I have on hold til 2.0 comes out.
I only hope they add more html support!
Can you possibly elaborate on any of the new features for v2.0? You know, from an overview perspective. I’m really anxious and curious about what’s going to change or what features are going to be added. Thanks.
I don’t personally have any details, but I think it’s quite safe to assume (and we know this based on the applications’s internal files) that iWeb is going to be a bit more like Keynote and Pages when it’s all said and done. If you open the application files, you will see many of the same features that Keynote and Pages have - they’re just sitting there waiting to be hooked up. But which features will be hooked up is the question :)
If you have keynote or pages you can cut and paste alot of the functions into iweb. so you could build a slideshow and then just cut and paste and it will work in iweb. i think this because of what suzanne said about the the features there but no interface to build them.
