Okay ooops I still haven’t gotten to Sunday’s work. Ack. Hold tight on that. I have two things for you:
FIRST
I’m looking for a handful of iMovie enthusiasts… soccor mom’s, football dad’s, anyone who does a lot of home video and really enjoys putting things together with iMovie. I’m connected to a new line of iMovie and podcast products that should be out soon. We’re looking for feedback and direction from those folks who really do a lot of either. Contact me with your website URL if you, as an iMovie enthusiast, are interested to know more and possibly help us shape these products for the market.
SECOND
Okay, this one is big. I’m working with a guy to potentially develop a new web design tool. I’ve known and worked with this guy for a long time. We both came out of the major e-commerce world. He’s a PhD in artifical intelligence or something like that, but the guy is brilliant when it comes to building enterprise-level software. The last piece we built (for an e-com CSP) now processes over a million dollars a day and manages online stores for nearly every major software developer out there, including Microsoft. The new Office product and the Vista upgrade are both being served up off THAT system.
We’re in the research and proof-of-concept stage, but it’s looking fairly certain that we’re going to move forward with requirements definitions and modeling within the next month. He just went and bought himself a Mac so now I know for sure he’s invested ha! Soooooooo, here’s the thing. I need leads to outstanding Cocoa developers. I’m not talking good developers or even experienced developers. We’re talking about the best Cocoa arcitects out there. I think we’re going to start with two and it makes no difference where in the world they are although, English language is necessary, and US-based is likely what we’ll want, simply for convenience. If you know anyone who fits this description or online forums where I could likely find people like this, please contact me.
THEN, if you want your name in the credits when this thing goes live ;-) send me all your thoughts on the state of web design as it relates to the software currently out there. We’ll gather and review the opinions, requests, and dreams you have and try to wrap it up into plan. I won’t be able to respond to you, but know that we’re studying all of it. Try to write useful feedback though. Sending me one line that says,
“…I hate when (application name) doesn’t let me do (function)!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Okay, we get that, but we need really good feedback. Tell me the outcome you’re trying to achieve and why the software gets in your way or doesn’t help solve the problem.
“… I’d like to provide a contact form for my web site, one where I specify the entry fields and the questions, but Software X doesn’t allow this flexibilty and the form it does provide is difficult and confusing to incorporate… the language they use doesn’t make sense to me…”
Okay, I need to get out to the Apple store today and then back to work!
