Send Steve A Beer

November 18, 2006

I was out perusing iWeb sites the other night and stumbled upon one of the best finds in my history of web browsing. Now keep in mind that we all have different taste – I rarely find something that really engages me, but for some reason, Steve Gartside did. After a tiring day of hacking XML, I spent two hours or more, reading through his fiery daily whinges! Half the time I was shouting, “Yeah you tell ‘em Steve,” and the other half I was so utterly entertained by his purely British sarcasm I darn near had to pick myself off the floor, twice. But that wasn’t the kicker of the evening… no, Steve has something even more entertaining than that at his site!

If I hadn’t laughed or enjoyed his commentary enough, imagine my surprise when I found this page – a fully-stocked bar, payable to the order of Steve himself. Well I couldn’t let that one pass. Especially after all the entertainment he had just provided so I went ahead and bought him and his buddies a round. Come to find out though… Steve missed the part about the buddies and sent me this :D

Cheers my friend! Looking forward to all your continued whinging!

If you think Steve is nuts and can’t believe he writes what he writes, buy him a beer or two or four, or even a bottle of wine and keep him drunk. :D Too much fun.

Hey Thanx For The Mention (and of course thanx for the beers)

You should be careful though, you might end up with a diminished reputation associating with the ilk of lunatics like me.

    To All

Seriously though, my site is a light hearted escape from my daytime legal drudgery. However one thing that has become abundantly clear to me over time though, is that despite the time and effort I put into maintaining my site, there is no substitute for creativity. I was an early adopter of iWeb and jumped in with both feet to take advantage of what I still believe is an awesome application.

However I am slightly saddened that my pages now have a somewhat basic look, devoid of the sort of professionalism that Suzanne’s templates can deliver. To anyone reading this post, don’t miss your opportunity, if you are starting your own website afresh or simply starting a new project, start it right and get a professional template from 11mystics.com…… I wish I had.

Wow and I didn’t even pay for that part!! :D Steve… wait for iWeb 2.0 and keep your fingers crossed that they allow theme switching at that point!
