Most of my templates do come with page types you haven’t seen in the Apple templates yet. I’ve created many types: Calendar, Events, How-To Article, Photo Gallery, Photo Gallery Index, Shopping Category, and Product Detail. They’re almost always in the second set you receive. I reserve the first set for the typical page types, Welcome, About Me, Blog and so on.

The problem, and I’m sure it’s temporary, with iWeb is that I cannot rename these pages in the template selection window (Figure 1). For the time, we’re stuck with the page names: Welcome, About Me, Photos, Movie, Blog, Podcast and Blank.

Therefore, if I want to offer you a calendar page, I have to create it and name it one of the pre-existing pages. If you install your new templates and merely look at the page names, you might be confused. However, if you look at the little thumbnail pictures, you’ll see that indeed, the Welcome page (at least in the example in Figure 1) is a set of calendars! And if you select the Welcome page, indeed, you will get that calendar page on your screen.

So, don’t be confused by the page names - we have to live with those for now. Hopefully in the next release of iWeb, they’ll allow us to provide the page names ourselves :)
